The techniques of anesthesia, various surgical procedures, and nutritional therapies are explained using case studies.

The program is instructed by a true authority in herpetofauna veterinary medicine, Dr. Tom Hellebuyck, a diplomate of the European College of Zoological Medicine and head of the Poultry, Exotic Pets, Wildlife, and Laboratory Animals Department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Merelbeke.
