WHAT IT'S LIKE

Iran, surprisingly, is one of the most stunning places we’ve ever explored, with its diverse habitats. One moment you’ll feel like you're in the Swiss Alps, and by dinner, you'll be crossing desert dunes.

Our main goal on this expedition? To find the Holy Grail of snakes—the Spider-tailed viper (Pseudocerastes urarachnoides).

We’ll journey deep into the Zagros mountains, near the Iraq border, hiking daily and keeping an eye out for this elusive species while sleeping under the stars.

Along the way, we'll encounter iconic reptiles and amphibians, including the desert monitor, Iranian fat-tailed gecko, toadhead agama, Arabian sand boa, Field’s viper, Kaiser's newt, Arabian horned viper, and many more!
